Why the .xyz?

I did a little research and saw that as far as popular website suffixes go the following are the most used and they have their own connotations/meanings to them:

.com - Commercial
.org - non-profit organizations
.biz - businesses
.net - more for technical
.co - startups and small companies
.info - informational
.xyz - coined by Google and symbolic of the alphabet being all things from a-z.

There are others but these are what I remember off the top of my head.

I thought .xyz was the most representative of what I was trying to do on this site. I'm approaching it as something that is not so focused on topic but the ideas that just come to me, and therefore could end up being from anywhere in the spectrum of things from commercial to informational to technical and all things that I'm interested in between!
